Can I put these items in a dumpster instead?
Mattresses, tires and Freon appliances can go in a Knox Bros dumpster for $50 each. Paint with liquid, chemicals and batteries cannot go in at all. If you have only one or two items, the transfer station is cheaper. If they are mixed into a full cleanout, the dumpster saves a trip.
What does tire and mattress disposal cost at the Killeen Transfer Station?
The Killeen Transfer Station at 12200 State Hwy 195 charges residents $80 per ton and non-residents $137.60 per ton, with a $26.25 surcharge for loads that aren't tarped or strapped. Residents with a utility bill can dump up to 500 lb of extra garbage free each month.
